4K/UHD broadcasting is growing quickly as media organizations aim to differentiate their services with more compelling, higher resolution content that’s better suited to consumers’ larger televisions.
However, 4K/UHD has led to a proliferation of new standards and formats, with delivery using quad-link 3G, dual link 6G or single link 12G signals. These higher bandwidth signals are more challenging to manage, and physical layer testing (Eye and Jitter) at facilities is especially important in view of the greater cable length sensitivity and unforgiving nature of 4K/UHD.
To overcome these challenges, PHABRIX’s Qx 12G 4K/UHD generator, analyzer and monitoring solution offers multiple novel capabilities for QC and compliance testing with ultra-HD.
The Qx 12G offers easy navigation across 4K/UHD standards, and a full array of 12G/6G/3G test tools including waveform and vectorscope. It also delivers fast, automated 4K/UHD (12G/6G/3G) physical layer analysis using RTE™ (Real-Time Eye) technology, which provides instant feedback about compliance with easy to follow ‘traffic light’ indicators.
Qx 12G also offers advanced Pathological signal generation for UHD (6G and 12G-SDI), which can be used to verify how sensitive the SDI link is to pathological conditions on the interface. Built-in automation control allows testing to be performed faster, more reliably and at lower cost.
