Trilogy, a Clear-Com® company, and PHABRIX will join forces to demonstrate the PHABRIX Qx AND Sx TAG hybrid IP/SDI SMPTE 2110 generation and analysis solutions together with the Trilogy Master Reference Generator Mentor RG sync and test pulse generator (SPG) on PHABRIX’s Stand 10.B12 at IBC 2018.

The Mentor RG generates synchronised video, audio and time-code signals for broadcast purposes to an extremely accurate time signature, often provided by a GPS reference system, which is then passed on to the ‘mission critical’ automation system. The single box solution ensures absolute synchronisation of multiple signals in any broadcast or professional media application.

PHABRIX will show its new SMPTE 2110 Qx rasterizer and handheld Sx TAG test and measurement products locked to PTP (Precision Time Protocol) supplied by the Mentor RG SPG. Two Mentor RGs can be configured to provide a very clean PTP Best Master Clock Algorithm (BMCA) change over, as well as highly accurate lock to GPS. The Mentor RG is extremely configurable and also provides automatic support for both Multicast and Hybrid PTP communication modes without the need for manual intervention. .

“PHABRIX also used the Mentor RG during the development of the ST 2110 Qx and Sx TAG solutions resulting in strong technical collaboration for both companies” said Nicki Fisher, Sales Director for the EMEA region at Clear-Com.

Representatives from Trilogy and PHABRIX will be available on Stands 10.B12 and 10.D29 at IBC 2018 to discuss the combined solution.
