Thatcham, UK – 21 May, 2024: PHABRIX, a Leader Electronics Corporation brand, has announced that it is to exhibit a comprehensive selection of its T&M instruments on the Leader stand at BroadcastAsia 2024, which takes place at Singapore Expo from May 29-31, 2024 (Stand 6C1-5). Part of Asia Tech x Singapore, which is the region’s flagship technology festival, BroadcastAsia is the meeting place for Asia’s broadcasters, media and entertainment professionals.
BroadcastAsia has been a significant event for PHABRIX test and measurement instruments for many years, both in terms of introducing new solutions and features, and connecting with existing and potential customers. The 2024 event will be no exception as it’s set to showcase a cluster of new features and upgrades across its extensive product range.
PHABRIX instruments will be drawing particular attention to the fact that the Qx series of rasterizers and waveform monitors – which comprises the Qx, QxL and QxP models – now supports the detection and analysis of SMPTE Full Range video standards. Enabling customers to focus on maximizing the quality of their content, the update means that the Qx Series can now generate video standards in Full Range, Full Protected (FP) Range or Narrow Range (NR) in IP ST-2110, and either Full Range (FR) or Narrow Range (NR) in IP ST 2022-6 and SDI. Additionally, with the Qx Series’ analyzer, it is now possible to verify color content regardless of the specific video format in use.
The company will also highlight several other new and recently-added features in the Qx Series, including an advanced EUHD option with the QxL rasterizer and QxP portable waveform monitor that supports UHD and 4K HFR (High Frame Rate) extended video formats in ST 2110 – workflows that are now increasingly commonplace across broadcast and media production.
BroadcastAsia visitors will also have the opportunity to gain in-person insight into the full capabilities of several specific class-leading products, including the PHABRIX QxP 25G ST 2110 and 12-SDI portable waveform monitor. Described as its first example of a traditional waveform monitor – but with a twist – the QxP inherits all of the class-leading features and flexibility of the QxL rasterizer, which will also be on show in Singapore. Providing an integral 3U multitouch LCD screen and an integral V-Mount or Gold-Mount battery plate, integral mains PSU and 12v external DC input, the QxP is entirely at home in a host of environments: on-set in SDR or HDR productions, or QC, MCR, Engineering and R&D applications.
The fast-moving nature of media these days, and the imperative to address production issues in a more flexible way, has made the PHABRIX Sx Series of handheld/portable a firm favorite for some time now. At BroadcastAsia, the brand will exhibit two solutions from this range: the SxE portable 3G/HD/SD generation, analysis and monitoring toolset, with advanced SDI physical layer analysis that makes it ideal for video technology manufacturing and live production; and the Sx TAG portable IP/SDI + analog generation, analysis and video/audio monitoring toolset, which is resonating strongly with the increasing number of hybrid media environments being operated around the world.
Martin Mulligan, COO, Leader Electronics of Europe, comments: “The last few years of BroadcastAsia have felt very dynamic and exciting, so I’m delighted that PHABRIX products are on show again. Supporting more flexible workflows that typically incorporate both SDI and IP, and a variety of video formats, continues to be a critical engine of our R&D department. Therefore, many of the products and updates we will be showing this year reflect this need for versatility in all sorts of media environments. If you have a T&M enquiry or requirement, we hope you will visit our stand to find out more about a range that literally offers something for every broadcast customer.”
